COURSE OVERVIEW

As a new team leaders, you will be expected to build a cohesive work team in which the team members collaborate to carry out the work of the unit and meet the expectation of senior management. Understanding some of the theory or team building is therefore highly valuable for the newly appointed team leader.

This course introduces the principles of team working and the factors which influence team effectiveness. You will learn about the roles of members of typical teams using the Belbin model, and to use the framework to manage the range of different personality types required in an effective team. You will also learn about the stages in team formation using the Tuckman Model (Forming, Storming, Norming, and Performing). Finally, you will explore how you can lead the way by yourself becoming a more effective team player.
